Fair And Balanced Taxes : Give More, Take Less

The debate rages on, liberals and Democrats insisting the way to avoid the fiscal cliff is to raise taxes on the higher income makers. The Republicans and Conservatives want to cut spending. I have a plan that does both, increasing revenue and cutting spending.

It would involve developing tax table that would tax everyone, not just the wealthy. Everyone would be expected to pay something to give more. The percentages would be based on a flat tax rate system.

For those who have not income and currently pay little or no taxes will have their fair percentage deducted from their entitlements, taking less. This would please both sides, increasing revenue and decreasing spending. The deduction would not be great. A few dollars less in food stamps, would not cause a family to starve, but would force them to tighten their belts, purchasing less unnecessary items like soda, snacks, candy. Everyone shares in the sacrifice.  Either you pay more or take less.

Less Government

A believer in self reliance and empowerment I resent anyone especially the government telling me what to do or trying foster a dependency on government programs and entitlements. I believe everyone is responsible for their own happiness. Ben Franklin said it, "...I  observed in different countries that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course become poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them , the more they did for themselves and become richer."

"The U.S. Constitution doesn't guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. You have to catch up with it yourself" Ben Franklin

The there is this quote, "The class of citizens who provide at once their own food and their own raiment, may be viewed as the most truly independent and happy." James Madison

Be free and independent. It is your life and personal living artwork. No one else can live your life for you.
